About Me

As an established Integrative Psychotherapist with years of experience, I’ve witnessed transformative change in many individuals. I have undertaken extensive and high-quality training, and conducted research on eating disorders and the psychodynamics of unconscious processes, contributing valuable insights. Having worked across various settings and age groups and taught trainee Counsellors as a Lecturer in Mental Health and Psychological Therapies at an academic institute, I draw from this experience to provide personalized Psychotherapy tailored to your unique needs.

Initially, my intention is simple: for you to feel genuinely heard, accepted, cared for, and supported. So many navigate life without this and finding a therapist who truly understood me was a game changer, altering my life and paving the way for enriching and fulfilling growth and change.

Assessment

We'll commence your therapy journey by gaining insights into your life and therapy goals, concluding with a review and discussion to ensure a good fit between us.

Your Therapy

After reading and signing the agreement we’ll move ahead with your therapy, working toward your goals, taking periodic reviews to ensure the therapy remains effective.

Closure & Ending

When you feel your therapy goals have been achieved, we will decide on a fitting endpoint and schedule your final sessions. Reflecting on your progress, discussing the changes you've experienced, can provide closure to your overall therapy experience

What is Anxiety?

Anxiety is a natural human response to stress or perceived threats, helping you to stay alert in challenging situations. It becomes a concern when excessive worry and fear persist, interfering with daily life and stop you from being your full self.

How do I know if I have anxiety?

It is normal to experience some anxiety from time to time but excessive anxiety can prevent you from doing everyday tasks and reaching you full potential in your hobbies, relationships and career. Anxiety can be experienced as increased heart rate, muscle tension, overthinking, difficulty concentrating, sleep disturbances, avoiding certain places or events, panic attacks, irritability, and avoidance of social interactions.

What causes anxiety?

Anxiety can result from a combination of genetic, environmental, and psychological factors. Imbalances in brain chemistry, traumatic experiences, chronic stress, and family history are among the contributing factors. The combination of factors will be unique to you and will be illuminated through the therapy process.

How can psychotherapy help with anxiety?
Psychotherapy provides safety, care, and support to help you explore and understand the root causes of your anxiety. My specialist knowledge and experience can help you to develop new responses to difficulties in your life, that align with your needs.
How many sessions will I need?

This will depend on your needs and the severity of your anxiety and we can discuss this at the end of the assessment period and review it throughout your therapy. 

How often will we meet?

I provide sessions on a weekly basis as this frequency and consistency of meeting has been shown to be effective in creating long-lasting change.

What happens during the first session?

We will begin to understand you, your life, key relationships, and major life events at a pace that feels comfortable for you. It’s a chance for me to begin to understand your needs and for you to experience therapy with me and decide if it feels comfortable for you. 

How do I know if you’re the right therapist for me?

Finding the right therapist involves considering factors such as their approach and expertise, but most importantly is the rapport you feel with the therapist. The consultation call and assessment appointments will give us the opportunity to begin to start building this rapport and for you to sense if I’m the right therapist for you
